I'm a little hard of hearing so do stand a bit closer to someone when trying to understand something, that said I know BSL ( British Sign Language ) but in the ring a head nod and if needed a double tap on the person means stop.

You'd struggle sounds very much like you'd try.

That's all anyone can ask, hopefully your autism doesn't stop you wrestling.

Thanks for posting. Has your deafness ever been an issue in terms of guys wanting to wrestle you?

yes and no, some didn't care or say no difference and we find ways to communicate with me visually and physically . others think it is more hot to rassle me since I can't hear them cussing or trashtalking. I just tell them, no sleepers pulled on me. I do get occasional ones that freak out and didn't want to wrestle me.

OK, thanks. It's disappointing that there are people who freak out about deafness but encouraging that you've found that to be only occasional.

The only thing you could say would be missing in a WOS bout with a deaf person is the continual calling of "ask him ref".

I always find that weird anyway especially if there are only 2 of you in the room!

It never did Alan Kilby any harm and he beat loads. Just because you have a hearing aid out of the mats doesn't mean you are weak on them, probably the opposite.

If you want a bout give me a shout when you are up North.

No one should discriminate against another for any reason. As you have mentioned fanofwos, if all the ground rules are laid out before hand then you both would have an enjoyable bout. I have wrestled guys who have been deaf or partially sighted in the past and had a great grapple.

Some people are just jerks, man! Some of my favorite people are deaf! Deano

It seems to me that many on this site are reluctant to take on a deaf person, like me. I am very open to the idea of a having a safe, pretend, and predetermined bout. Obviously, I have to remove my glasses and hearing aid for the wrestling; but I am sure I do not need to communicate with my opponent during our bout. Instead, we can use hand-gestures. Also, I like the idea of playing the role of a silent and surly wrestler. I am not into pain nor violence, but if my opponent is in some discomfort during our bout, they can either shake their head three times, or tap me or the floor three times, and I'd back off very immediately - very straightforward, isn't it? So, the $64,000 question is: why is it, after numerous messages, my prospective opponent ignores me shortly after I've revealed my deafness? I'm only an ordinary person, who happens to have a great love of the old pro wrestling.

Yeah, I can't think of any reason not to wrestle a deaf person. Maybe it's not because your deaf.

Yes, that's strange. I can't envisage anyone I've wrestled or otherwise met on MeetFighters being reluctant to wrestle someone because they were deaf. But anyway, if you're struggling for matches, wrestle me!
