when lived in Miami used to go to pro matches and wore a tee shirt that said "have mats, lets wrestle on it. got some good action from dudes that were into thinking they could wrestle like the pros cn card. Some were just so-so but did find couple who could give me a good fight.

Guys

Yes, I have done this.. I got some threatening calls one day from someone I knew if a former life. I also knew where he lived and decided to teach him a lesson. I belted him in the mouth and called him out.. he started to fight me but knew better and of course, called the authorities. I got a call at home and was assured that no more calls would occur

Few years back when living in Miami, had a tee shirt and also a sweat shirt made that both said"Have mats, let's wrestle" on each. Wore them at gym I used and when I went to pro wrestling shows. Got a lot of interest from dudes..specially at pro shows where also got dudes in audience that think they bad asses and can wrestle. Got some good action though a lot of guys werent that good and beat em easy. Mostly"red-necks type dudes, but did get lucky with a few muscled guys close to my age at time....was 20y then.

In a blog entry on „Georgian (Drinking) Culture“ („Georgian“ here refers to the former Soviet republic of Georgia at the Caucasus) I found the following interesting part:

„It is undeniable that Georgian men love drinking, but they also have a big soft spot for wrestling. In Tbilisi I was to find out, first hand, that they like to combine these two past-times. While sitting in an unlicensed bar with Misha, a man walks in and sits down with his friends. However this was no ordinary man, he looked like he'd been brought up on a diet of wildebeest and steroids, he looked like he had been born and raised in a cage. In short, he was massive. We were later to find out thet he is only known by the name "Shark" and that he plays for the Georgian rugby team. Believing his size to be noteworthy, I mentioned it to Misha. Misha says, "So, you want to wrestle him?", "No" I reply. Misha explains how, in Georgia, it is considered a normal occurrence to challenge a man to a wrestle if you feel like it, and that it was a completely normal thing. In all honesty, I didn't believe him, but when he then got up talked to the guy and in less than 30 seconds negotiated a wrestling match. It was obvious that this was actually a reasonably normal occurrence. I found myself being herded outside, as Misha explained that he would be wrestling Shark, while I wrestled his friend, who was now doubt smaller, but still noticeably bigger than me, and as I found out later was trained in judo. We had to remove our shirts, as was the rules, and that was how I found myself in a shirtless wrestling match in a car park in Tbilisi.“

I don't think wrestling in a park would work in the UK... Even if you had a 3rd party there to reassure passers-by that it was not a real fight, eventually someone would get the authorities involved. It's a shame because there are so few places to scrap informally.

I used to train in a group or with friends in the park, also oil wrestling. If you don't mind that other people are watching, it's just a great experience, also if you have a lake close by where you can take a swim or "pool wrestle" afterwards. On a meadow you don't need mats which is also great. I recommend to fight in a pretty crowded public park where you have other people. They will watch but then nobody calls the police. Of course it should stay just a training/fight and nothing more...

@Sturdy: According to this page the average age is 40 years. Searching for heels turns up 562 results, while searching for jobbers tallies 695.

There, cleared that up for ya :)

99.9% of guys on this site are jobbers? No way - never thought to add it up but loads of us here are heels (or aren't worried about labels like that!).

Point taken haha! As I'm close to that age I'd have to say don't let it put you off: we can still be a decent wrestle!

Hmm, maybe cos, like he said, he wants a young muscular guy to wrestle him and the average age of users on this site is around 54, and 99.9% of them are jobbers?

Just a thought!

All sorts of risks to challenging a stranger - anything from a blank look to being reported to the police for threatening behaviour!

Why look to hire wrestlers when this site is full of guys looking to wrestle for fun for free?

Now that the summer comes there are lots of hot guys around showing their muscles ;) Have you ever challenged someone in a park or public place to a wrestling match? How did u go about it? I thought about it, or offering money or smth...what do u think? to wrestle a muscled guy would be a huge turn-on for me
