I, too am working on this. I instantly look at prospective opponent's necks in their photos. It tells you a lot about their experience. My photos immediately show my lack of wrestling experience because my neck should be at least as wide as the back of my jaw.
I've stayed with bridges (both forward and back), but a lot of that is just to practice bridging, too.
Congrats on the size bump! I've not seen a huge improvement, myself. But I don't discourage easily. I've asked bodybuilders at my gym, but they have no workable suggestions either. Of course, they don't wrestle, so they wouldn't know.
I have taken to using a head harness with a weight stack to strengthen my neck (<100 forward bends with <40kgs weight so far) and also extra strong rubber strips to complement this. It seems to give me a lot of core strength because the movement also requires abs and quads to get involved. I've moved up a collar size!
I built this into my training regime because I feel I am too old to do neck bridges
Does anyone have any experience of this? What helps you with neck strength? Any tips? Any problems?
