I started doing mma training in a gym about two years ago at the age of 47 (never practised any martial art before). Now i'm completely addicted to it: training 3-4 times a week. It's awesome!
I started MMA training when I was 43 years, in the meantime I changed to BJJ + grappling in my club. I`m the oldest one, but I have always fun (3 times a week)
Good stuff GrapplingHB. Unfortunately after my fifth class I got an injury as a lad landed on my hand and bent my thumb back. Been off it for a while but I plan to return..
...after putting it off for ages as I was pretty anxious : lets face it, its an intimidating environment for a gay man to walk into. And I loved it! It was great fun. Although I am a lot older than the other guys (bit offputting) it all seemed fine. I learned how to floor someone by working on the ankles first and also a highcrotch. I'm going back next week.
I don't know if my post is going to help anyone else who is considering trying wrestling but has been a bit nervous, but my advice to you is just get out and do it, you won't regret it!
