certainly. there are probably a few ways to simplify it, or speed it up–Americans in particular are pretty impatient–I can't see them sitting through 11 total rounds of chess/boxing, although at 6 X 4 for chess and 5 X 3 for boxing that's only 40 minutes, in theory.
good–that means, I guess, we have to come up with a rule to replace the k/o of boxing. best 2 out of 3 pins or submissions, maybe? what about gear? if it were for a gay audience, I would suggest jocks, cuz I'm just that kind of guy. I know almost nothing about chess–and all of those guys in the vids have good ratings from the chess gurus. I would have to do some serious work chess-wise if I were to do it.
A few ways to simplify the match: the chess could be king and pawn against king and pawn, a standard game, and the wrestling could involve starting in a basic pinning situation, like cross body chest on chest but no arms or legs used, then a score is to pin the guy for 30 sec or to escape within 30 sec.
I know I am very late in asking about this, since it started in 2008/2009, but just wondering if anyone had seen any of the videos on utube about this. for whatever reason, it really gets me going. they alternate 3 min of chess with 3 min of boxing, no breaks. compete until checkmate or k/o. I guess part of it for me is that it's relatively ordinary guys doing this–it just seems to blend brains and brawn in a really sexy hot way, imho. anyone know of anywhere in the us to watch this? thanks. mark
