I understand that some guys use the crotch scissors to knock guys out. I tried it once while practicing with a friend. He got me in a fig4 scissors with me in his guard, and pulled my head into my crotch and squeezed me with his legs. It instantly cut off my air. I struggled to get out, but it was no use. I'd say it's a highly effective hold.
